Who am I?

Greetings! My name is Mya and I'm a 19 years old Afro Latina from NYC. My pronouns are she/her. I started this zine in hopes of not only raising funds for BIPOC LGBTQIA+ foundations, but also to uplift BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ artists!

Where there is trouble the IMC will be there! In uncertain times communities must band together!

  • Q. What charity/organization will the proceeds go to?

  • A. I have a few in mind, such as The Okra Project, Center For Black Equity, and the Lebanese Red Cross. Depending on our budget I'd like to donate to more than one, however if we can't the money will go to an international charity.

  • Q. Can submissions be canon or non-canon to the series

  • A. Submissions to this zine may both be canon characters (Such as Sailor Moon, Card Captor, ext.) or non canon characters (OCs or Fandom Characters)

  • Q. Will the contributors (artists, writers ecc.) receive a free digital or printed copy of the zine?

  • A. At the moment, it's 100% certain that all contributors will get a digital copy before the initial sale. As for physical copy of the zine or merch, that will be decided later in production according to budget constraints.

  • Q. Should entries strictly be based on magical girls from Japanese media, or are American ones (like Star Vs the Forces of Evil or Steven Universe to a point) also included?

  • A. This zine is open to magical media from all countries! I will say that Steven Universe is not a magical girl show. Sorry about that y'all!

  • Q. Are entries featuring crossovers between characters from different shows allowed?

  • A. It's all up to the contributors! There's tons of freedom in terms of what can be submitted.

  • Q. If I was to submit something to this zine, how hard will be the vetting be? Does everyone get in? Or do you only pick the best ones (like really good art or only the best stories)?

  • A. I'll talk about this more when contributor applications open!

  • Q. Is there a timeline planned for this zine?

  • A. Yes and no! As of today (8/17/20) dates for mod applications and contributor applications have been set. Dates for contributor deadlines and zine release have not been set.
